Honoring Nurses – Empowering Health
Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, The National Nurses Health Institute is a global initiative founded by nurses dedicated to improving and maintaining the health and well-being of the world by empowering nurses through participation in our health projects, to achieve and represent a healthy lifestyle, and, to serve as role models for a healthy population. We advocate that prevention is cheaper than a cure.
And in a country where we are ebbing closer and closer to half the nation, including our children being obese, we look for leaders in our community to set the example for others. Believing that prevention is cheaper than a cure we created the National Nurses Health Institute an annual event to serve as an influential impact for the good of our general population. An attempt to bridge the gap between sickness and wellness; share our wisdom to improve health; and, collaborate with like- minded people to advance our mission. Despite all the challenges we face in the arenas of health and medicine, this event is a glimmer of good news. A life changing opportunity for all.
For the past 12 years, the public has voted nurses as the most ethical and honest profession in America in Gallup’s annual survey. In 2013, 82 percent of Americans rated nurses’ honesty and ethical standards as “very high” or “high,” a full 12 percentage points above any other profession.
